The new apartment complex is located near the city center of Trondheim. It enjoys a quiet green environment, with immediate access to the city, and its public transportation, shops, and cafés. The site covered an area of 4000 square meters and was previously used as a parking lot.

The area to the south was characterized by small private houses, while the east and north very quickly gave rise to large city-typologies. We saw an opportunity to create new urban housing, while continuing the important challenge of densifying the area for the future.

Illustrated above, along with corner-apartment plans, are the "main units". These are the key housing components of the apartment complex. The project aimed at finding solutions for single people and students, couples, and families. Providing them with flexible environments, adaptable to changing spatial needs.

To increase diversity of inhabitants the small studio flat was introduced, in addition to the larger units. The corners provided space for even bigger apartments, targeting large families or generations of families. Hopefully allowing them to live together through all stages of life.

One of the main features of the building is the large rooftop area. It is accessible through the connecting staircases and elevators. The three different levels also connect on the roof itself. The rooftop offers a beautiful view of the surroundings and great sunlight conditions throughout the day.

The volume heights seek to integrate the building with surrounding structures of the past, and the known future plans for the area. The courtyard offers a calm, protected public space with easy access through the large portal to the east, and the smaller entrance directly to the south.
